Goettl Air Conditioning & Plumbing Rallies 87 Associates and Helps Raise $15,085 at 2026 Get Your Rear in Gear 5K
Las Vegas, NV | May 2, 2026 — Goettl Air Conditioning & Plumbing returned as the Presenting Sponsor and largest corporate team at the 2026 Get Your Rear in Gear 5K, bringing together 87 associates and their families as part of a 227-person turnout that collectively raised $15,085 for colon cancer awareness.

The annual event, organized by the Colon Cancer Coalition, drew participants of all ages to walk, jog, and run in support of one of the most preventable yet under screened cancers in the United States. Goettl’s presence was not only the largest corporate showing of the day, but also a reflection of the company’s deepening commitment to community health and wellness.
“Events like this remind you why awareness matters so much,” said Michelle Fogal, Local Event Director and Goettl associate. “Colon cancer is beatable when caught early, and every single person who shows up, whether they walk, run, or cheer from the sidelines, is helping spread that message. Seeing so many Goettl faces in the crowd made the day even more special.”
Why This Cause Matters
Colon cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States. According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 158,850 new cases of colorectal cancer will be diagnosed in the U.S. in 2026, with approximately 55,230 deaths expected this year alone. That is the equivalent of roughly 440 new diagnoses every single day.
What makes these numbers especially urgent is a troubling trend among younger adults. Colorectal cancer is now the leading cause of cancer-related death in adults under 50, with incidence rates rising by nearly 3% per year in that age group even as rates have declined in older populations. Today, 1 in 5 people diagnosed with colorectal cancer is under the age of 55.
The good news: when caught early, colorectal cancer is highly treatable. The five-year relative survival rate has climbed from 50% in the mid-1970s to 65% today, largely due to advances in screening and treatment. Regular screening, awareness, and community support are the most powerful tools available.
Goettl’s Commitment Going Forward
Goettl Air Conditioning & Plumbing views its participation in the Get Your Rear in Gear 5K as more than a one-day event. The company plans to continue its role as Presenting Sponsor in future years, growing its team participation and fundraising totals in support of the Colon Cancer Coalition’s mission to improve outcomes through awareness, education, and early detection.
“We do things the right way, not the easy way,” said Jake Gress, CEO of Goettl Air Conditioning & Plumbing. “That means showing up for our communities, not just in people’s homes, but in moments that matter. We are proud of our team’s energy and heart at this event, and we have no plans to slow down.”
Since its founding in 1939, Goettl has operated with the belief that strong communities are built through consistent action. The Goettl Gives initiative continues to drive that mission across the company’s markets in Arizona, Nevada, and Texas.
