Goettl Air Conditioning & Plumbing Names Steven Cruz General Manager of Austin Branch

Trades Veteran and Five-Year Goettl Leader Tapped to Lead Growing Texas Market 

AUSTIN, Texas, April 2025 — Goettl Air Conditioning & Plumbing has named Steven Cruz as General Manager of its Austin branch. A five-year Goettl veteran, Cruz comes to Austin after serving most recently as Plumbing Operations Manager in San Antonio, a role he held for three years following his start with the company as a Service Manager. 

Cruz brings more than two decades of hands-on trade experience to the position. He discovered his passion for plumbing at 19 and dove straight into the trades, building his career across markets in Hawaii, Oregon, and Arizona before landing in Texas. That breadth of experience, combined with his time rising through the ranks at Goettl, makes him well-suited to lead a branch he sees as ripe for growth. 

“We have room to grow in Austin,” said Cruz. “I was excited about this opportunity because it’s a smaller branch where I can have a direct impact with each employee. That kind of dedicated, one-on-one time with people is something I take seriously as a leader.” 

Cruz said he is energized by the team he is stepping into. “I’m excited to work with a team that is eager, driven, and tech-savvy,” he said. “I want to see this team develop and move into leadership roles.

He also sees a strong fit between Goettl’s culture and the Austin market. “What I appreciate about Goettl versus our competitors is how we’re constantly evolving, constantly searching for new technology in both HVAC and plumbing,” Cruz said. “We are innovators. That’s our history and what we strive to continue. The Austin customer base is highly technically savvy. They want high-efficiency products, and that is exactly what Goettl delivers.”

Cruz also plans to make community investment a priority in Austin. Under his leadership, the branch will participate in Kindness in the Air, Goettl’s monthly giving program and media partnership that awards $1,000 to a local nonprofit chosen through nominations from both Goettl employees and the community. Through the media partnership, each recipient is featured in a 30-second segment that runs on local news for the entire month, putting a spotlight on the organization and the work they do. 

“Austin has a strong culture of community, and I want our team to be a real part of that,” said Cruz. “Kindness in the Air gives us a way to do that together. I want my team involved in who we support and why. That kind of connection to the community matters to me, and I think it matters to Austin.”

I am not knowledgable about water heaters. Expansion tank cracked and caused a leak. Panicked and called Goettl to describe my emergency. Juan was here within 30 mins and quickly identified the issue. Goettl was also able to replace the water heater the same day. Carlos and Sebastian did an amazing job. Very impressed with the response and repair time. Would 1000% reach out to Goettl for future issues and routine maintenance work. Thank you!

Got it! Here's the corrected review: **AC Unit Service Review — Goettl** David G. and Jeremiah J. came to do a regular checkup, part of the Goettl member program of my AC unit at the beginning of summer. They were awesome. They were kind, friendly, and punctual. Goettl's office staff is excellent, keeps you up to date, is professional and does what they promise. They checked everything very carefully, informed me of the condition of everything, and answered my questions completely. They gave no pressure at all, were very friendly, not in a rush, and did a very thorough job. Goettl was recommended to me, and I can absolutely recommend it to others.

24 June 26 Thank you Christian Acosta for your assistance with our unit yesterday! My husband relayed the information shared. —————— 20 Jan 2026: Jesus Gloria from Goettl came to my residence to perform my furnace rejuvenation service. Although there was a part he could not inspect without taking many many things apart, he did a fantastic job explaining why, and gave me the status of the furnace, the measurement readings of the parts needing attention, and providing video documentation. he also installed the sensors that will help in monitoring my home’s safety and comfort. Thank you, Jesus! ——————— APR 2025: I called Goettl out of desperation because I had another HVAC tech come out and completely turn off my system, and telling me I couldn’t use it - until I get a new evaporator coil and probably a whole new system… in 90+ degree weather! He literally unplugged the outdoor unit, left the closet unit unscrewed/opened, and the connections outside loose. I asked him when he could reconnect it and he said he couldn’t until the company approved the quote, ordered the part, etc. Likely over a week?! Thank goodness Miguel from Goettl came out to walk me through my system needs and for reconnecting my system back, even though it’s barely at capacity. Even at that, it’s better than NOTHING. His customer service was amazing and Tony, his finance colleague was equally just was helpful sharing system options and following up with me via phone and email. I absolutely loved Miguel and will recommend Goettl to the moon and back to others in the meantime! This is not the last time to hear from me. Miguel is a Godsend!
