Certain problems with water quality are more common than others. One that homeowners encounter frequently is hard water. The fact that hard water is relatively common, though, doesn't mean that it is nothing to worry about. It may not pose a serious risk to your health, but hard water can still cause a number of different issues in your home. That is why it is best to get rid of hard water as soon as possible.

A water softener draws magnesium and calcium out of the water in order to "soften" it. But to do so, it must put something back into the water. Most water softeners use an ion exchange process where calcium and magnesium ions are exchanged for sodium ions in the system’s resin tank. This tank is filled with resin beads, and the hardness ions (calcium and magnesium) attach themselves to these. The tank flushes itself when certain levels are met, and the system will need to have the sodium in the brine tank replenished.
If you notice that your water is tasting too salty or you notice the signs of hard water in your home have returned, don’t hesitate to give us a call. We can complete any necessary water softener repairs. If a full water softener replacement should be necessary, we can do that too. Your water quality really is too important to take any chances with.
