Tightening Electrical and Control Connections
Temperature swings and vibration can loosen connections over the off-season, leading to nuisance shutdowns, tripped safety sensors, or completely failed startup. Think it’s not a big deal? Our technicians frequently trace major repairs back to these small issues. During our tune-up, we tighten and verify every critical connection to ensure your system starts up reliably and runs safely.
Cleaning the Burner Compartment
We brush and air-clean the burner compartment housing to keep dust and debris out of the flame path – issues that can seriously hurt your furnace’s efficiency, performance, and even safety. Burner cleaning is a separate, as-needed service, but our burner compartment inspection is included in annual Rejuuuvination® for your furnace’s performance and safety.
Test, Clean, and Re-Test the Flame Sensor
Furnace flame sensors can give inconsistent readings, especially with ambient temperature swings. If you have dirt, corrosion, or cracks on the sensor itself – or issues with the electrical connections, the furnace can short-cycle or fail to ignite altogether. Our inspection and tune-up includes testing, cleaning, and re-testing to ensure your flame sensor is accurate and dependable.
Check Manifold Gas Pressure and Temperature Rise
Proper gas pressure is crucial for clean, safe combustion and your home staying warm and cozy when temps drop. This is a behind-the-scenes check that most homeowners don’t know about, but it’s critical for safety, efficiency, and comfort. We measure your manifold gas pressure and set to spec, then confirm the air temperature rise is within the manufacturer’s recommended range.
Air Filter Cleaning or Replacement
Filters vary by size and type, so we don’t always supply one. We’ll still service yours – and replace it on the spot if we have it in stock. If you let us know in advance, we often bring the correct filter with us so your furnace is ready to go. Our Smart Sadie members receive an annual $25 voucher for a new filter – great time to redeem it!
If you prefer to supply your own, we can advise you on which filter to order, how to install it, and how to keep it in optimal condition. Whether it’s your filter, our filter, or one you need to order, it will receive the same care and attention from us.
