Our CEO, Ken Goodrich, was a 10-year-old boy holding a flashlight for his dad as he worked on an air conditioner for a customer. His father was a Goettl dealer in Las Vegas who admired the longevity and quality of Goettl products. I typically don’t do reviews for average service but since my opinion was requested, here goes. I have used Goettl on numerous occasions for various HVAC issues at two locations. Each time a different tech arrived so this review is general. The first tech, Sam, was an absolute shark. If you could have been a fly on the wall, you would have been disgusting with his shady sales tactics. I asked him to leave the house and had a productive conversation with a manager which is why I continued to use Goettl. The next interactions were with friendly techs who did the job I asked them to do generally. During one particular repair, the tech expressed to me that they are barely paid a living wage which is why it is almost Necessary to find additional work that is needed to be done when at a clients home for service calls in order to get additional commission. That tech told me this is how it is with many companies in San Antonio. As far as my most recent service, the tech was friendly and professional and did give me three different solutions. I can’t say that he provided any false information to “up sell” other than recommending a ultra violet air scrubber to help limit fungus from growing in the drain line (AC not draining properly was the reason for the service). Although an air scrubber may be of value on some minor level, certainly not the solution to a improper drain issue. Ultimately, the three solutions he gave were as follows: 1- to flush the drain line and double check that the AC unit was still functioning properly. $450 approx. 2-install air scrubber UV light to stop fungus/ sludge from developing in the drain $1,000+. Install a device that would send water through the drain every few hours to keep things flowing-$1,300. Ultimately I just asked that he flush the drain of which he charged $247. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t expect anything free, but nearly $500 to blow air into the drain and check that the AC unit was operating properly?? This was a 15 minute job, MAYBE 30 if he checked the unit too. If I’m being generous give it an hour even. I asked him in what world do AC companies make $500 per hour. There are no real materials involved to speak of beyond a few puffs of compressed air. Between my first scammy up-sell from Sam, to a tech telling me they are paid poorly so they MUST upsell to survive, and now a nearly $500 per hour estimate for some day-one type work…..I’m over it. I will say the customer service reps that take your call are outstanding, hands down. Even the dispatch is very friendly. I can’t say the techs are dishonest but anyone who knows anything about HVCA work, even just a little, can quickly tell it’s an upsell meeting. Bottom line, they schedule the appointment and dispatch with top notch professionalism, they show up when they say they will, they have the knowledge to get the work done, but they will do what they can to upsell you and any work you have done will be at a PREMIUM. I’m not bashing, I was asked by Goettl to give a review. Hope this info is helpful

Our longtime plumber retired. Since we replaced the AC and got the Smart Sadie plan from Goettl, we called them for our water leak. Clayton Purvis was awesome! He dug until he found the leak, told us what to expect, our options, how much it would cost to repair or replace it. We chose to replace the water line and they will be out tomorrow to do that. Clayton was not pushy. He was very professional, polite and it was a pleasure to meet him.

We suspected that the black stuff recently building up on the sides of our A/C ceiling outlets could be mold. An afternoon call to Goettl brought Blake to our house at 6:30 that same evening. He thoroughly checked the A/C outlets, units and duct workk, concluding that moisture leaking from the outlet plates was creating the mold.
We discussed options and agreed that a detailed lcleaning and sewing of all the ducts should eliminate this problem. He discussed financing and, and returned the following morning to make all the arrangements. He also advised us not to continuously run the A/C fans when the unit was not cooling, which seems to have helped with the humidity already, even though the duct work isn’t scheduled for a few days hence.
It was a pleasure to work with a knowledgeable A/C technician who could quickly isolate the cause of our problem and arrange a solution.

Although they were polite and professional in notifying us the first time they were not going to be here for their scheduled appointment. When it came to the second appointment the following day, between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m., Goettl did not contact us to reschedule or apologize for the delay. We had to call them and ask for a status update. The technician was 35 minutes late to his 4-hour window arrival time. Since we had plans this evening, I had to ask the technician to reschedule in driveway. This is my first time having Goettl come out too conduct maintenance on our AC. I am disappointed.
Andrew Morgan was great, he fixed the issues I had found a few that also needed work and fixed thise as well (all under warranty, most companies would not do this, they would wait so they get paid to do it again) . He answered all my questions, and was very professional and did great work. I always appreciate the work from this company. It's why they are the only ones I call when I have HVAC or plumbing issues.
Customer service is great, so are the technicians. I have spent over $6K and am still having the same problem. When I call for emergency assistance, I still have to wait. DO NOT recommend.

Absolutely horrible company brand new AC unit breaks twice in a month then they have the audacity to put me on a 6 day wait list in the August heat. Customer service when I called was great. The technician Jesus was nice and personable as well but the pricing is outrageous. I was charged $428 JUST to diagnose the issue and then was told it would be $3400 to repair my AC after that! I got TWO additional opinions after that just to find out it was not what was stated to me during that visit at all. I think the fact they are a big name company allows them to charge outrageous prices for things that don’t need to be. Most other companies I called AFTER had $75 service fees to come out and diagnose what was wrong but I even had a company come out for free since it was a second opinion so they waived the fee for me and imagine my surprise when again as previously stated it wasn’t my compressor at all as Goettl stated. So even though customer service was decent, I will not ever be going back. They will not be first on my list when or if I have issues with my HVAC. Save your money and go to a small local company with great customer service AND aren’t being greedy!

He wanted to do the service at the same price and deduct the $428 I previously paid for diagnosis and throw in 2 years of maintenance. We called Goettl June 2024 because the house was not cooling evenly. We were told it was an air flow issue and they suggested zones to include 3 smart thermostats, That was about $10K but they said we would probably need a new hvac system soon. The house was cooling fairly well. We decided to get a new hvac system in January. That was another $20K. Now that it’s summer the new system is not cooling as well as our okd system despite it being 4 ton, 17 seer. Now we are told it’s an air flow issue in our bedroom and we need a larger duct to that room. But how do you explain the rest of the house not cooling well?
07/23/25 Update. After getting the new larger duct to the master bedroom, it still wasn’t cooling properly. Goettl sends out another tech that actually knew what he was doing. Tech Billy McDermott found the problem. There was an opening on the back of the unit in attic that was blowing cold air into the attic. Once he sealed it up, low and behold the cold air is now coming into the living areas and the set temp is holding. I am leaving this rating at one star because after several techs coming out and telling us it was an airflow issue and we spent an extra $6K on insulation, come to find out none of the techs including a supervisor could find the problem. From now on if we have issues with HVAC, I want Billy to come to our house.

Rudy came out and located my leak and it ended up being from the A/C. He immediately got in contact with the office and had them get someone over to fix the issue. Outstanding service as usual.
Well all I have to say is that I’m sorry for posting this review super late. To be honest I had a bad experience at first. But then I felt bad. I didn’t mean to get anybody in trouble. I really appreciate that David went out of his way to help us. And he was very professional and kind. And well!!! He sent the best AC Technician we ever met!!! Edgar Loredo!!! He was super nice and has a great personality!!! To be honest he felt like a part of our family!!! And he is super smart and knew what he was doing!!! The initial technician who came out to assess the issue (I unfortunately forgot his name) was 100% on point—thorough, honest, and extremely helpful in walking us through our options. When it came time for the installation, Daniel Castillo did an outstanding job. He was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. He made sure everything was installed properly and took the time to answer all of our questions. The new unit is working perfectly, and the entire process was smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend this company—top-notch service all around!
I had an amazing experience with Jehad from Goettl. He showed up quickly, which was a huge relief during a stressful time with a broken AC. He was incredibly thorough in diagnosing the issue and took the time to clearly explain everything to me in a way I could understand. What really stood out was his patience and calm demeanor—even when I was on the verge of an anxiety attack, he never made me feel rushed or overwhelmed. They were polite and professional and made sure all our concerns were heard and addressed. It is believed the issue has been identified and fixed. Thanks Goettl for making the situation right!

Goettl service technicians have returned to assist with some issues. Both Ian P. and Will M. we're both very professional it was believed issues were resolved. Dispatcher Betty was also able to hear my issues and arrange for a tech to arrive as quickly as possible.

Jorge "George" was respectful and easy to communicate with. He listened and answered all our questions. Informed us of what and how Goettl could do with the 20+yr old system in our home, and gave us time and space make the best decision for us. So far very pleased with Goettl's professional conduct and standards.
AC not working again since Friday night (8/8/25). I contacted Goettl as instructed, not satisfied with the response, still waiting for resolution and contact/communication from a manager.

Goettl assistant install supervisor Nacho and his crew (Manny & Julio) assessed the entire system again today. They were polite and professional and made sure all our concerns were heard and addressed. It is believed the issue has been identified and fixed. Thanks Goettl for making the situation right!

Goettl service technicians have returned to assist with some issues. Both Ian P. and Will M. we're both very professional it was believed issues were resolved. Dispatcher Betty was also able to hear my issues and arrange for a tech to arrive as quickly as possible.

Informed us of what and how Goettl could do with the 20+yr old system in our home, and gave us time and space make the best decision for us. Matthew showed up and located and fixed the issue my unit was having. He then proceeded to look at other components that may have lead to the issue. Had a really positive experience with Goettl today with their tech Miguel. My outdoor a/c unit failed to function due to my own lack of preventative maintenance duties, on top of needing a touch up. Within an hour Miguel had everything diagnosed, repaired/cleared/refilled. Coming from someone who has owned their own business and trained employees before, I was relieved to see a tech who performed everything flawlessly and in an expert manner. Rudy came out and looked at my existing water softener and found two problems with it no isolation valve and no air gap unit was installed six months ago by a contractor Clearwater purifications and they are coming back to install isolation valve and air gap under warranty. Rudy was awesome and providing very important information.

Had a kitchen drain that kept backing up, tried everything, finally called Goettl. Matthew went above and beyond to inform us. I was really nervous about the leak in my son's room. I was afraid of the cost . When Matthew got here,he put all of our fears to rest. He was patient and kind and explained everything! He also provided us with different payment options. All in all it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend their service to anyone.

Edgar did a great job in the house. He came to do maintenance on the AC. He introduced himself and explained everything that he was going to inspect. He offered tips on home maintenance in order for me to be proactive in preventing issues from happening and also showed me how to do it. Very helpful to overall home maintenance.

My experience with the Goettl AC tech was by far a positive experience. He was professional, knowledgeable and capable. What he didn't know or wasn't sure about, he was able to make a call to a more senior tech. I'm reassured that field techs have backup from the office. He used that resource to diagnose a twitching component of on a 17 year old control board. Good Job Cameron.

Was very pleased with Goettl and Matthew Lopez. They came into our home and looked at our system and let us know what was wrong with it. They were not pushy or demanding, but opposite they were caring. We had several techs come to our house to fix our issues but they did not fix it. Matthew showed his frustration because they did not fix our issues. Matthew explained what needed to be done to make our unit run more efficient. We thank him for his expertise. Will use them again.

It was a very big job and we were stressed about the final cost given we did not have a Home Warranty—Billy was considerate and gave us a lot of options to repair but also keep within the budget we were working with. I was scared and totally unprepared for this fast escalating water leak. It was terrifying. Ryan and Kaelen came and patiently and thoroughly explained what was happening. What was the procedure to locate the issue, what they would need to do to assess and repair the issue and as they exposed the problem they showed me what was happening each time I came out. They educated me fully so I will be able to handle any future issues confidently. They confirmed the leak was resolved and showed me how to use the new turn off if needed in the future. They were fast and completely removed all signs of the repair. I am so grateful to have 2 young men of such professional expertise show up and will not hesitate to continue using Goettl.

We have been looking for a company that is going to be there when we need them and is willing to use the warranty on our system. I had a leak previously repaired by a different company that was still leaking, so I decided to call Goettl, to get a pro to repair it. I was seriously impressed, the leak was repaired and it looks and works perfectly. Rudy came by on a Friday and dug up the pipes, identified where it was leaking and came back Saturday morning to repair it. The repair was truly a work of art. Andrew the service technician was very helpful and very friendly. He explained how he was going to unclog the water sewer plus he told me there was a solution to my problem and needed to get a product that he has to clean the pipes. But i told him that it was ok but the service from goettl plumbing excellent and that I will be calling then back.
