What Does El Niño Mean for Your HVAC System in Phoenix?
El Niño (technically termed “The El Niño Southern Oscillation” or ENSO) is a condition that occurs off the Western Coast of South America when the sea surface temperature is warmer than normal. In turn, this triggers unusual changes in climate that can affect parts of the Western Pacific United States. The variations can lead to higher precipitation in some regions, and drier climates in others. For 2014, the current predictions for El Niño through to January is that it will be weaker than usual, and the Climate Prediction Center (CPC) has cautioned that there is “reduced confidence that El Niño will fully materialize in at least five overlapping consecutive 3-month values.”
What does this mean for us in the Valley? Generally, during El Niño we would experience a wetter and cooler winter season. Historical tracking of precipitation during El Niño across central Arizona over a hundred-year period shows an average increase in rain fall of 143% compared to non-El Niño years. Although the current predictions for the season lean toward a weaker El Niño—or possibly none at all—we may still experience a large increase in rain fall in the Valley, rising from 2.71 inches for the winter to 4.81 inches, with generally cooler conditions than usual. Gilbert is exactly what you want in a tech. He was patient in listening to what my perceived situation is with all the context I could provide while also doing a fresh analysis uninhibited. This allowed him to corrobote some aspects of what I knew and what other companies claimed but also correct some other aspects that were misinterpreted or incorrect altoge. Add in personability, reasonability, and hard work and I could be happier.

Our AC went down for the upstairs unit. We have a maintenance plan through another company but they do not provide 24/7 service. I called Goettl and I am so happy I did. Jesus Gloria was out within a few hours. I was called to confirm the appointment window. Then texted with the photo attached so I would know who my technician was and the link to track their arrival. Jesus was so professional and explained everything to make sure I understood. He took photos and videos to make sure I could see what he was talking about. Today, Rodell did a thorough clean-out of our bathroom sink drains, including sending the camera down to check for build up out to the main connection to the sewer. This was included in our membership with no extra charge. He and his partner also found the mystery leak in the guest bathroom toilet and replaced the guts and seals. The thing I liked the best was his advice about maintenance and how that little hole in the sink is a real drain that also needs flushing out by letting the sink fill up periodically. We ordered a new refrigerator from Lowe’s. When they delivered it, they said they could not install the water line. We were not familiar with plumbers so we asked our neighbor who did the plumbing in his new shower. He said Goettl and he was very happy with the results. I called them they sent out a wonderful servicemen, Gerardo Gonzalez. The builders had used 3/8” pipes and Lowe’s seemed to only have 1/4” connectors. Gerardo solved our problem and we had to get Lowe’s out again the next day to finish the install. We highly recommend Goettl and appreciate the caliber of their staff!

Installation day was when they said it would be. They scheduled the building permit, attended the inspection, and it was on time. We called on a Saturday and thankfully Christian Acosta was the one on call to help us out. Thank you Jerry for two plumbing jobs well done. Jerry cleaned out pipes from bathroom sink which were draining slowly. Jerry showed before and after pictures from his camera and what a big difference. Sink draining much better now.
Jerry also noticed our water pressure was low after flushing toilet then trying to wash hands in bathroom sink which were so he suggested a new pressure regulator as we have had a new better water conditioning system installed. We now have the best water pressure even when using a shower and kitchen sink faucet at the same time. Also Jerry is a master plumber and we appreciate his knowledge and experience. Will definitely call Goettl again when a plumber is needed.

Company sent us Stanley to help with a water line for our refrigerator. Had several problems but Stanley was very knowledgeable and informed us of all decisions and you could tell he just lived his job. It was a pricey fix and I respected Stanley more for being situationally aware that my wife and I needed to talk in private. He informed us, gave space and time to decide, and ultimately helped us out with the repairs. Others in management were very helpful too. Overall great experience

Nicholas Mayhew came to our home to repair/replace the garbage disposal, unclog a kitchen sink and replace a bathtub spigot. He was assisted by Caleb. Nick gave three price quotes and options on what to repair before any work was started. He and Caleb repaired all in a matter of a little more than two hours, including a parts run.
