Ways to Save Water in Your Home
Water is obviously an absolute necessity when it comes to resources in your home. Not only does it play a major role in keeping your home and body clean and hygienic, but it is absolutely necessary to keep your body functioning, alive and well, at the biological level. Knowing all of this doesn’t make it any less irksome to see a very high water bill come through, however. But you can’t go without water, so what can you do, right?
Wrong. There is plenty that you can be doing to reduce your water costs, and the main method is right there in what we just said: reduce! Obviously you’re going to continue to use water in your home. That is never going to change. But you want to be sure that you are using water in a smart and thoughtful manner. Here are some helpful tips.
Use a Faucet Aerator
This is one of the simplest ways in which you can start to scale back water usage in your home. The best part? Once that aerator is in place, you’re probably never really going to think about it again. The fact is that for most applications in your home, a full draft from the faucet is more than you really need.
A faucet aerator basically just attaches to the faucet in question—we recommend installation at all faucets—and allows for the mixing of air and the water coming from the faucet. That means that you’re going to be using less water, while still having access to the water that you need for cleaning up, brushing teeth, washing hair, etc. Keep it simple, keep it effective. Aerate!
Run Water Only When Using Water
Bad habits can be tough to break. Even tougher to break are bad habits on behalf of others in your home. We cannot stress this one enough, though. You need to use the water in your home only when you’re actually using it! What does that mean?
It means that you don’t keep the water running when you’re brushing your teeth, or when you’re scrubbing pots and pans. Sure, the shower can be soothing—but when you’re done cleaning up, don’t just stand there soaking in the atmosphere! Again, a little bit of conservation can really go a long way when it comes to keeping your water bill manageable.
When Replacing Equipment, Keep Conservation in Mind
We’re not suggesting that you need to rip out all of your plumbing fixtures right now, especially when they’re not that old and they’re functioning just fine. Keep the matter of conservation in mind moving forward, though. From low-flow toilets to front-loading washing machines, there are a lot of appliances and fixtures out there ready and willing to do most of the work for you when it comes to cutting back on your water consumption. March 2024 update.
Had Andrew come out to remove garbage disposal and repipe sink. He also swapped out 13 emergency water shut off valves in 3 bathrooms.
Andrew was professional, courteous and expedient. He did have to run out to get some supplies. He stayed until 7pm to complete the job on one trip.
May 2023 update. Technician Steve came today to do the summer rejuvenation. Friendly and professional tech. Explained the process and findings. Both systems are new, so everything checked out good. Did a god cleaning of coils and now all set for the summer season. Had them out for fall prevention service and to review the systems that are here. I just bought the house and needed to understand what was in place.
The service tech, Kevin was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He explained and provided photos and video of all components. He ensured keeping house clean and wore booties.
My second unit is not in the best shape, and Kevin explained each of the issues. I will follow up with service managér to determine next steps (repair or replacement).
I signed up for there service plan and am very pleased with the service and communication to date

Everything looked good, but did comment on lack of insulation as has been noted before. Did not have current code. But was ok. Explained the benefit of higher level/depth of insulation. Scheduled so as to get current rebates.

After having a brand new unit less than 1 year it wasn't cooling. Had 3 different technicians, 3 different times make a trip out to see what was going on. Not one of them could find anything wrong. Told me keep doors open for better air flow and a couple different options. Still not working, I had to call a different company because I was tired of it getting hot in the house. It took them 1 visit to find it was the reverse valve all along. Tried to get compensation for their techs not fixing or even checking that part. Was told no due to lack of maintenance. Lol. Not 1 of the 3 that came out even checked that part.

I was greeted at the door with a gift for my doggo and a new flashlight. Jorge took a look at my system and he knew his stuff. Optimal operating temperatures, pressures and the whole works. He took the time to explain it to me, show me the failed parts and even give me a list of options. With those he gave me realistic expectations at each price point.
He was able to work his magic and get my system back online and my house cool again. This isn't my first time calling on goettl and it won't be my last.

Jorge did an absolutely amazing job getting my AC system back up and running. He explained step by step in detail exactly what he was doing and why to such an extent that someone like me that knows zero about ACs understood the whole process. Normally I feel like AC companies try to rip you off and pull the wool over your eyes to oversell you on things you don't need but it was nothing like that experience. He fixed what needed to be fixed and explained why it might have happened and some potential things needed to help avoid it in the future. We had a home warranty service person come out first. He didn't remove the ac top to look inside. Without going into the crawl space or checking out much, he was done with the inspection. When Hunter from Goettl came out, he was beyond thorough. He took lots of pictures and inspected every aspect of our unit. His recommendations were based on facts and what he had discovered. He was able to give us the tools we needed in order to make an informed decision. The process of installing the unit was easy and stress free.

They are a very dedicated crew - they worked hard over two days and into the night to make the install happen. Jef came to our house to diagnose why our 22 year-old furnace wouldn't run correctly. He was very courteous and willing to answer my questions with as much detail as I wanted. I never felt like he was trying to sell me more than was needed to get the furnace running again. He explained, with pictures of our furnace's components, what he found when he inspected it. It simply needed a cleaning and routine service which fortunately was not a huge expense.
He explained, while he saw no immediate problems. what we might expect going forward, given the furnace's age and condition. After I asked about major component vs. whole-unit replacement, he provided a thorough explanation, and pricing, of options for us to consider.

Shortly after he visited my hot water room he requested be to accompany him to observe there was a stream of water coming out of thr drain pan. We ordered a new refrigerator from Lowe’s. When they delivered it, they said they could not install the water line. We were not familiar with plumbers so we asked our neighbor who did the plumbing in his new shower. He said Goettl and he was very happy with the results. I called them they sent out a wonderful servicemen, Gerardo Gonzalez. The builders had used 3/8” pipes and Lowe’s seemed to only have 1/4” connectors. Gerardo solved our problem and we had to get Lowe’s out again the next day to finish the install. We highly recommend Goettl and appreciate the caliber of their staff!

Installation day was when they said it would be. They scheduled the building permit, attended the inspection, and it was on time. We called on a Saturday and thankfully Christian Acosta was the one on call to help us out. He was knowledgeable, kind, super patient with our very curious child, and did absolutely everything in his power to get our AC back on. Unfortunately the blower motor was toast. He got us set up with a window unit for the time being and. Fast forward to today, Wednesday, and Christian and Ian came to install a new blower motor for us. Both gentleman were wonderful! They kept us informed of the process and what to expect as they replaced the parts. Our house is already cooling back down and I have Christian and Ian to thank for that! They did inform us of a military discount, which was very helpful, and they insured the entire process was as streamlined as it could be. If we ever need assistance in the future, I will be calling and asking for Christian and Ian because I know they will ensure that our HVAC system has been treated with the highest quality of service. They also brought our son an adorable plushie of Sadie, the Goettle mascot, and a flashlight. Its comforting to know that when Christian and Ian are on the job, you'll be taken care of as if they were working on their own homes.

It was a pricey fix and I respected Stanley more for being situationally aware that my wife and I needed to talk in private. Russ Sapp came yesterday 8/18/25. He was prompt, very courteous, explained what he was doing with taking pictures of our AC unit and what areas of the AC unit needed attention. He didn’t rush. We have had Goettl of Tucson service for about a year and thank goodness we had them to call when our AC failed and had a condensation leak in the attic . Goettl sent ROBERT out right away. He did a thorough inspection and informed us of what we already felt we needed to do with our old system. He sat down with me and went through the pros and cons of repairing the old vs replacement. He explained everything about a new Goettl system. Bobby Smith is great at explaining the options I have with my AC and Heater. He also let me know about the maintenance plan which is going to be great for me so I can always keep up to date with the AC and the heater. Also I didn't know that you did plumbing and he said I could get plumbing work done too so I am going to do that right away. I liked the photos that were taken to explain the situation on where I am at with the unit. All in all it was the best technician experience I have had since becoming a home owner in 2010. I would highly recommend Geottl and Bobby to anyone because of getting things right the first time, going out of his way to help, following up and keeping promises, and great product and technical knowledge. I'm not super informed on my home machines so it is comforting to be in good hands.
