What Is Zone Cooling?

Zone cooling, also known as zone control, is a zoned temperature control system for your home. Using a series of motorized dampers installed into the supply ductwork, a zone control system allows you to manage the temperatures in your home via individual zones, each with its own thermostat, versus using a single thermostat for the entire house.

How Does a Zone System Work?

The first step is to designate what the zones in your home are going to be; working with the technician, you’ll outline these zones. Once the zones have been determined, the motorized dampers will be installed into your supply ducts and connected to a main control panel. Thermostats will be installed into each zone, and the thermostats will also be connected to the main control panel. Our AC went down for the upstairs unit. We have a maintenance plan through another company but they do not provide 24/7 service. I called Goettl and I am so happy I did.
