Easy Heating Maintenance Tasks When Switching from Heat to AC

Summer is not too far away here in Phoenix, Arizona, so the need for heating may end before you know it. While routine maintenance is important throughout the year, there are some important maintenance tasks that should be done before you switch your heat pump from heat to AC. Schedule Your Annual Tune-Up

This is perhaps the most important task you can do before switching your heating and AC system from heating mode to cooling mode. Our technicians will help to ensure that your system is working efficiently and that there are no hidden issues. We can also help you by showing you other things you can do to help maintain your system throughout the summer. If you have any concerns or questions about how to properly operate or maintain your system, be sure to ask one of our technicians during the tune-up.

Change Air Filters

While you may have been doing this throughout the winter, it is equally important to make sure your air filters are changed or cleaned before you turn on your AC unit. This helps ensure that there’s enough airflow in the system and keeps it running efficiently. It also helps keep dirt and debris out of the major components and the ductwork. Excessively dirty filters could indicate another hidden problem, so be sure to call a technician if your filters are dirtier than normal.

They said I needed to replace my a/c. I was given a choice of 5 units. I liked that the 2nd most expensive would balance the temperature in my house. I get full west in my living room in the afternoon. It is always 10 plus degrees hotter on my sofa, than rest of house. So I paid a fortune and it isn't doing what he said it would. They came back and added another vent to my living room. Better, but still not what I was told. I could saved $10k and got the cheaper model. Don't think I have much recourse to get this fixed. The technicians are very good, too bad their salesmen and products are not up to the same standard.

Original order of checking thermostat. And why heat would not kick on right away
It was taking several degrees to heat up the house. Air conditioning works great.
He went and checked thermostat and suggested a new thermostat. $800 for two installed. 👀
He then checked furnace in attic.
The fresh air exchanger was pretty dusty and he could clean it for under a hundred $. I said go ahead because exchanger runs ten minutes per hour to keep fresh air circulating. So price was $99. Still a lot for cleaning a screen.
It seemed to have worked in conjunction with thermostat because it’s been working properly since he left.
Im glad I didn’t spend $800. But only $228 .

I'm reviewing Goettl’s maintenance inspections for HVAC and plumbing. Chris was our HVAC specialist, he was very thorough and pointed out some new things on the app. Chris’ inspection revealed we had mold in our plenum, in the early stages. He gave us options, including the nil option, the maintenance and inspection were free. Kudos to Brent , our plumbing specialist came back the same day when we blew out our disposal, after he had left. I have a 13-year-old home that has aging utilities. I have Sadie Service. I always get my hvac system serviced before summer and before az winter.. Deano was my service technician. Just like the other Goettl service technicians he was friendly, very knowledgeable, explained everything he was going to check and do. He took lots of before and after pictures, all emailed to me. The unit that came with the house is old but in good shape because of the maintenance I have done twice a year. I do know I may only have a few years left with this system. Pablo arrived in the window that was promised. He was very efficient when something wasn’t working quite right. He found another workaround to inspect my heating system. He cleaned off the firing point with sandpaper as I’ve seen many other technicians. Do he inspected everything took pictures of everything and sent the pictures to me. He asked if I would be interested in a price on a new system. I told him not at this time there was no hard sell. My system is now 21 years old. I plan to replace the heater and air conditioner, but not for another few years. I found four seasons to be excellent and Goettl to be just as good.

Today, Rodell did a thorough clean-out of our bathroom sink drains, including sending the camera down to check for build up out to the main connection to the sewer. This was included in our membership with no extra charge. He and his partner also found the mystery leak in the guest bathroom toilet and replaced the guts and seals. The thing I liked the best was his advice about maintenance and how that little hole in the sink is a real drain that also needs flushing out by letting the sink fill up periodically. He reviewed with me some of the items associated with my current installation that might be best updated and replaced. He gave me an estimate and we should. We ordered a new refrigerator from Lowe’s. When they delivered it, they said they could not install the water line. We were not familiar with plumbers so we asked our neighbor who did the plumbing in his new shower. He said Goettl and he was very happy with the results. I called them they sent out a wonderful servicemen, Gerardo Gonzalez. The builders had used 3/8” pipes and Lowe’s seemed to only have 1/4” connectors. Gerardo solved our problem and we had to get Lowe’s out again the next day to finish the install. We highly recommend Goettl and appreciate the caliber of their staff!

This is how a service/install company should work. Price was exactly as quoted and was very fair, comparing to multiple others. They never tried to add on extras like all the others did. Installation day was when they said it would be. They scheduled the building permit, attended the inspection, and it was on time. We called on a Saturday and thankfully Christian Acosta was the one on call to help us out. Jerry also noticed our water pressure was low after flushing toilet then trying to wash hands in bathroom sink which were so he suggested a new pressure regulator as we have had a new better water conditioning system installed. We now have the best water pressure even when using a shower and kitchen sink faucet at the same time. Also Jerry is a master plumber and we appreciate his knowledge and experience.
