AC FAQ: System Blowing Warm Air?

Certain areas of the country do not really require that homeowners use their air conditioning systems very frequently. Needless to say, Arizona is not one of those areas. The weather around here can be oppressively hot, and cooling one’s home effectively and efficiently can be a challenge. Leaving your air conditioning installation and routine maintenance to the professionals on our staff will help to ensure that you are able to cool your home successfully.

Of course, even the best air conditioner is going to stumble from time to time. When you notice that your air conditioner is not really living up to your performance expectations, contact us right away. There are many warning signs that something may be wrong with your air conditioner in Maricopa, AZ. One of the most alarming is an air conditioner that is blowing warm air. However, it may not always be as serious a problem as you’d think.

The Good News

Okay, in the middle of the summer an air conditioner blowing warm air is hard to associate with “good news.” That being said, there are definitely some best case scenarios that can make resolving the problem with your air conditioner a very simple affair. In fact, it may even be as simple as pressing a button.

This is going to sound very, very obvious, but keep in mind the fact that discovering a malfunctioning air conditioner in the middle of the summer season can be quite stressful. With that in mind, we want to remind you to check your thermostat if you feel warm air blowing from your vents. It is possible that the system has been accidentally set to a “fan only” mode, or even that your heat pump has been switched over to its heating mode.

If everything seems right at the thermostat, you should pop out to see if your outdoor unit is actually up and running. If not, it is possible that the circuit it runs on is broken. Check your circuit breaker, and simply reset any breakers that have tripped. That should get the outdoor unit back up and running, so that your AC is back to running properly, rather than acting as a big fan.

I had my furnace and a/c checked today by Geottl. So glad I did! With this service Geottl also looks at the vents in your home. My vents were filthy. My furnace wasn’t functioning at top efficiency. The reason was the vents. The accumulated dust gets pulled through the system leaving dirt in my heating coil. Lupe showed me the photos of vents and heat coil, explained the issues and remedies. Goettl has been amazing w/prices and top-notch work. The service technicians have been nothing but great. We had Mike H install a whole new water heater, pressure valve regulator, and new washer hoses. Initially, the visit was for a free full house plumbing check that comes free w/our membership, and we suspected our water heater was having issues so it was helpful to have Mike come out and check. He checked our water heater last, and, unfortunately, our suspicions were correct. Our water heater needed to be replaced b/c it was old. Mike explained to us the issues it was experiencing, and the too high pressure level our water was at. He made it clear the urgency needed in replacing the water heater and lowering the water pressure level, but he never made us feel pressured to make any decisions right then and there w/him, which we appreciated. However, we still decided in the moment to move forward w/Mike at Goettl b/c we had such a great experience w/Goettl HVAC during the summer, so we trusted him and his recommendations. Thankfully, Mike was able to tackle the biggest problem that same day and at that moment — the water pressure level. He made us feel like a priority and that our peace of mind, finances, and home mattered. We were able to get in just a couple of business days later for the whole water heater revamp. Day of water heater installation, Mike showed up on time, early, and completed the work in just a few hours. It was impressive. He left the work area clean, debris free, and his final work looks amazing. We had Geo come out on a Saturday in the afternoon so to a water heater issue. He showed up in good time and was able to identify the problem. He gave us a couple of different options to fix or replace the unit with no pressure on us. We decided to get a new water heater installed and he was able to do it the same day. Jef came to our house to diagnose why our 22 year-old furnace wouldn't run correctly. He was very courteous and willing to answer my questions with as much detail as I wanted. I never felt like he was trying to sell me more than was needed to get the furnace running again. He explained, with pictures of our furnace's components, what he found when he inspected it. It simply needed a cleaning and routine service which fortunately was not a huge expense.
He explained, while he saw no immediate problems. what we might expect going forward, given the furnace's age and condition. After I asked about major component vs. whole-unit replacement, he provided a thorough explanation, and pricing, of options for us to consider.

Shortly after he visited my hot water room he requested be to accompany him to observe there was a stream of water coming out of thr drain pan. He reviewed with me some of the items associated with my current installation that might be best updated and replaced. He gave me an estimate and we should. We ordered a new refrigerator from Lowe’s. When they delivered it, they said they could not install the water line. We were not familiar with plumbers so we asked our neighbor who did the plumbing in his new shower. He said Goettl and he was very happy with the results. I called them they sent out a wonderful servicemen, Gerardo Gonzalez. The builders had used 3/8” pipes and Lowe’s seemed to only have 1/4” connectors. Gerardo solved our problem and we had to get Lowe’s out again the next day to finish the install. We highly recommend Goettl and appreciate the caliber of their staff!

Installation day was when they said it would be. They scheduled the building permit, attended the inspection, and it was on time. We called on a Saturday and thankfully Christian Acosta was the one on call to help us out. Jerry also noticed our water pressure was low after flushing toilet then trying to wash hands in bathroom sink which were so he suggested a new pressure regulator as we have had a new better water conditioning system installed. We now have the best water pressure even when using a shower and kitchen sink faucet at the same time. Also Jerry is a master plumber and we appreciate his knowledge and experience.
