Is an AC Replacement on the Horizon?

Few people are likely to argue that purchasing a new central air conditioning system is the most exciting way in which to spend their money. However, replace our air conditioners we must, as they, like all other mechanical systems, will eventually fail. The question is not if you will have to replace your system, but when.

One fact to keep in mind is that you really don’t want to wait for your AC to suffer a catastrophic breakdown before scheduling your air conditioning replacement in Phoenix, AZ. Our summer weather is just far too hot to risk going without your home cooling system for any amount of time. That is why you should learn to spot the warning signs that the need for AC replacement is nigh.   • Frequent Repair Needs: While we certainly wouldn’t suggest that you just cast aside your air conditioning system at the first sign of trouble, you must be honest with yourself when the time comes to repair your system. At some point, repair needs may become frequent enough to justify the replacement of an air conditioner. Just because your AC is fixable, after all, does not mean that it is worth fixing. If you are paying to have your system repaired frequently, you may be better off simply replacing it with a more reliable model.
  • High Operating Costs: Even if your air conditioner seems to be cooling your home just fine, it may still be beneficial to replace it. Very high operating costs can really add up over time, especially in as hot a climate as ours. The amount that you’ll save in cooling your home with a more efficient AC over the years to come may be easily capable of offsetting the initial investment amount of a new system.
  • Age of System: You may be proud of your air conditioner for starting up at the beginning of another cooling system, but are you sure that it will make it to the finish line? We had Geo come out on a Saturday in the afternoon so to a water heater issue. He showed up in good time and was able to identify the problem. Mr. Junior was thorough, professional, and knowledgeable. March 2024 update.

Had Andrew come out to remove garbage disposal and repipe sink. He also swapped out 13 emergency water shut off valves in 3 bathrooms.
Andrew was professional, courteous and expedient. He did have to run out to get some supplies. He stayed until 7pm to complete the job on one trip.

May 2023 update. Technician Steve came today to do the summer rejuvenation. Friendly and professional tech. Explained the process and findings. Both systems are new, so everything checked out good. Did a god cleaning of coils and now all set for the summer season. Had them out for fall prevention service and to review the systems that are here. I just bought the house and needed to understand what was in place.

The service tech, Kevin was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He explained and provided photos and video of all components. He ensured keeping house clean and wore booties.

My second unit is not in the best shape, and Kevin explained each of the issues. I will follow up with service managér to determine next steps (repair or replacement).

I signed up for there service plan and am very pleased with the service and communication to date

12/21 Luis C came today to do routine maintenance on hot water heater. Professional and courteous. He did a through job and explained everything.

10/15. Juan came today and did a great job. He was professional, courteous and friendly. Was here for exterior water bid but also did a hot water heater. Took his time and explained everything.

10/22 update. Timothy was here to due furnace rejuvenation. Very professional, courteous and friendly. He did a very thorough inspection. Everything looked good, but did comment on lack of insulation as has been noted before. Did not have current code. But was ok. Explained the benefit of higher level/depth of insulation. Scheduled so as to get current rebates.

Told me keep doors open for better air flow and a couple different options. Still not working, I had to call a different company because I was tired of it getting hot in the house. It took them 1 visit to find it was the reverse valve all along. Tried to get compensation for their techs not fixing or even checking that part. Was told no due to lack of maintenance. Lol. Nobody ever realizes just how much of a role AC plays in your day to day until it goes out.
After toughing it out for a night I scheduled a service check with Goettl. Jorge came out and I'm so thankful that he was the one to show up. I was greeted at the door with a gift for my doggo and a new flashlight. Jorge took a look at my system and he knew his stuff. Optimal operating temperatures, pressures and the whole works. He took the time to explain it to me, show me the failed parts and even give me a list of options. With those he gave me realistic expectations at each price point.
He was able to work his magic and get my system back online and my house cool again. This isn't my first time calling on goettl and it won't be my last.

Jef came to our house to diagnose why our 22 year-old furnace wouldn't run correctly. He was very courteous and willing to answer my questions with as much detail as I wanted. I never felt like he was trying to sell me more than was needed to get the furnace running again. He explained, with pictures of our furnace's components, what he found when he inspected it. It simply needed a cleaning and routine service which fortunately was not a huge expense.
He explained, while he saw no immediate problems. what we might expect going forward, given the furnace's age and condition. After I asked about major component vs. whole-unit replacement, he provided a thorough explanation, and pricing, of options for us to consider.

Michael did a great job for us today. Our sewage line was completely blocked by roots. He showed me with the camera and educated me on what was happening to our old iron cast line. He knew what he was doing, the what, the why is this happening. We ordered a new refrigerator from Lowe’s. When they delivered it, they said they could not install the water line. We were not familiar with plumbers so we asked our neighbor who did the plumbing in his new shower. He said Goettl and he was very happy with the results. I called them they sent out a wonderful servicemen, Gerardo Gonzalez. The builders had used 3/8” pipes and Lowe’s seemed to only have 1/4” connectors. Gerardo solved our problem and we had to get Lowe’s out again the next day to finish the install. We highly recommend Goettl and appreciate the caliber of their staff!

This is how a service/install company should work. Price was exactly as quoted and was very fair, comparing to multiple others. They never tried to add on extras like all the others did. Installation day was when they said it would be. They scheduled the building permit, attended the inspection, and it was on time. We called on a Saturday and thankfully Christian Acosta was the one on call to help us out. Had a gas line in my home that needed repair. Goettl was quick to send a technician that night even though it was well past business hours. Chris came over and gave us a quote. He made sure we knew our payment options and thoroughly explained what the repair was going to be like and the steps we needed to take with the gas company. We have had Goettl of Tucson service for about a year and thank goodness we had them to call when our AC failed and had a condensation leak in the attic . Goettl sent ROBERT out right away. He did a thorough inspection and informed us of what we already felt we needed to do with our old system. He sat down with me and went through the pros and cons of repairing the old vs replacement. He explained everything about a new Goettl system. From all the benefits, to the great warranties to the peace of mind we’d have not having to worry what would and could happen next to the old system. He was friendly, thoughtful and professional. He put in a call to TYLER in sales & finance to reach out to us. He did and went through all the models of systems Goettl has to offer and all info we needed to make a decision and give him a call back. Robert gave us positive points to know we wanted a new system and Tyler gave us option on how. Thanks guys! Next day bright and early came some amazing techs ADRIAN and LUIS to install our new system. Such professionals, friendly with great personalities. Bobby Smith is great at explaining the options I have with my AC and Heater. He also let me know about the maintenance plan which is going to be great for me so I can always keep up to date with the AC and the heater. Also I didn't know that you did plumbing and he said I could get plumbing work done too so I am going to do that right away. I liked the photos that were taken to explain the situation on where I am at with the unit. All in all it was the best technician experience I have had since becoming a home owner in 2010. I would highly recommend Geottl and Bobby to anyone because of getting things right the first time, going out of his way to help, following up and keeping promises, and great product and technical knowledge. I'm not super informed on my home machines so it is comforting to be in good hands.
