The heat pump, in its cooling mode, will act more or less exactly the way that a central air conditioner does. That is to say that it evaporates refrigerant in the indoor evaporator coil, which allows it to absorb heat from the air in your home. Then, the heat pump transfers that refrigerant out to the outdoor unit, where it is condensed in the condenser coil. This allows it to release that heat into the air outside.
Enter: The Reversing Valve!
A component called the reversing valve is used to reverse the operation of the heat pump, flipping the operation of the coils and the flow of the refrigerant. When you need to heat your home, the refrigerant evaporates in the outdoor unit. It is then compressed before being condensed in the indoor coil.
That allows you to use its thermal energy to heat your home, and that means that don’t have to generate new heat in order to do so. This method of heat transfer is precisely what makes the heat pump such an effective heating system. While heat pumps are all-electric units, they do not rely on electric resistance to create new heat, so they are more affordable to run than, say, an electric furnace.

They said I needed to replace my a/c. I was given a choice of 5 units. I liked that the 2nd most expensive would balance the temperature in my house. I get full west in my living room in the afternoon. It is always 10 plus degrees hotter on my sofa, than rest of house. So I paid a fortune and it isn't doing what he said it would. They came back and added another vent to my living room. Better, but still not what I was told. I could saved $10k and got the cheaper model. Don't think I have much recourse to get this fixed. The technicians are very good, too bad their salesmen and products are not up to the same standard.

Chris was our HVAC specialist, he was very thorough and pointed out some new things on the app. Chris’ inspection revealed we had mold in our plenum, in the early stages. Pablo arrived in the window that was promised. He was very efficient when something wasn’t working quite right. He found another workaround to inspect my heating system. He cleaned off the firing point with sandpaper as I’ve seen many other technicians. Do he inspected everything took pictures of everything and sent the pictures to me. He asked if I would be interested in a price on a new system. I told him not at this time there was no hard sell. My system is now 21 years old. I plan to replace the heater and air conditioner, but not for another few years. I found four seasons to be excellent and Goettl to be just as good.

Today, Rodell did a thorough clean-out of our bathroom sink drains, including sending the camera down to check for build up out to the main connection to the sewer. This was included in our membership with no extra charge. He and his partner also found the mystery leak in the guest bathroom toilet and replaced the guts and seals. The thing I liked the best was his advice about maintenance and how that little hole in the sink is a real drain that also needs flushing out by letting the sink fill up periodically. We ordered a new refrigerator from Lowe’s. When they delivered it, they said they could not install the water line. We were not familiar with plumbers so we asked our neighbor who did the plumbing in his new shower. He said Goettl and he was very happy with the results. I called them they sent out a wonderful servicemen, Gerardo Gonzalez. The builders had used 3/8” pipes and Lowe’s seemed to only have 1/4” connectors. Gerardo solved our problem and we had to get Lowe’s out again the next day to finish the install. We highly recommend Goettl and appreciate the caliber of their staff!

We called on a Saturday and thankfully Christian Acosta was the one on call to help us out. Company sent us Stanley to help with a water line for our refrigerator. Had several problems but Stanley was very knowledgeable and informed us of all decisions and you could tell he just lived his job. It was a pricey fix and I respected Stanley more for being situationally aware that my wife and I needed to talk in private. He informed us, gave space and time to decide, and ultimately helped us out with the repairs. Others in management were very helpful too. Overall great experience

5 star service from Edgar who had to come do a second inspection after the home warranty company did not properly calibrate the unit. He was able to get the unit running smoother and provide great documentation for when I need to call the warranty company.

Nick showed me all the things he looked at on my A/C system. He explained to me why I might need a surge protector on the unit. I told him I would talk with my wife and explain it to her. Nicholas Mayhew came to our home to repair/replace the garbage disposal, unclog a kitchen sink and replace a bathtub spigot. He was assisted by Caleb. Nick gave three price quotes and options on what to repair before any work was started. He and Caleb repaired all in a matter of a little more than two hours, including a parts run.
