Ductless AC and Zone Control Systems: Two Ways to Get Zone Cooling
Zone cooling is one of the most energy-efficient ways to keep your family more comfortable and gain more control over your air conditioning system. Zone control allows you to choose to vary the temperature throughout the home if needed. Or if your home tends to cool unevenly due to the architectural design, separate thermostats can ensure the temperature remains steady anywhere in the home.

Zone Control and Central Air Conditioning
If you currently have a central air conditioning system, you can have a zone control system retrofitted into your ductwork. A technician must take apart one portion of each area of the ductwork for which you need zone control. Then, a damper is installed that opens or closes as you lower or raise the temperature. Generally, each area gets its own thermostat, but there is also a master thermostat that controls every damper in the home.
Ductless AC with Built-In Zone Control
When you choose to install a ductless air conditioner with multiple indoor air handlers, zone control is automatically at your fingertips. Ductless air conditioners are like central air conditioners as far as inner components are concerned, but they don’t require the use of ducts to supply cool air. This is ideal for any homeowner that does not want to add ductwork onto a home, but it comes with the added benefit of ductwork.
You’ll almost always need to install more than one indoor air handler with ductless cooling, unless you only need air conditioning for a single room extension or a small apartment. The air handlers are mounted up high in various areas of the house for even cooling, and each is connected to the outdoor compressor, which typically serves about 4 air handlers. As with central zone control, each area has its own thermostat, and you will usually get a master thermostat as well. You may even be able to use a remote control!

Rudy came out and looked at my existing water softener and found two problems with it no isolation valve and no air gap unit was installed six months ago by a contractor Clearwater purifications and they are coming back to install isolation valve and air gap under warranty. Nearly two years ago, our air conditioning unit failed and we contacted Goettl Air Conditioning for assistance. Instead of repairing the existing system, they convinced us to purchase a brand-new unit, promising that it would prevent future issues. Unfortunately, that promise could not have been further from the truth. In just under two years, the system has failed three times, each failure exposing deeper levels of negligence, poor installation, and unacceptable customer service.
From the beginning, the installation was fundamentally flawed. The system required 1,200 square inches of return air but was only receiving 800. One of the returns was even installed inside a closed cabinet in a bathroom — a baffling and completely inappropriate decision. As a result of the restricted airflow, the coil froze multiple times, causing repeated flooding in both the furnace closet and our secondary bathroom. It took weeks of technician visits before anyone acknowledged what should have been an obvious failure. After much persistence on our part, they finally tested the copper piping and discovered what we suspected all along: their welds had failed.
But the problems didn’t end there. After repairing the faulty welds, the technicians failed to reseal the plenum, which caused another round of flooding — this time resulting in even more extensive damage to the bathroom. The install manager and techs attempted to cover up the mistake, but I caught it before it could be hidden. At this point, the furnace closet is covered in mold, and the ceiling of our secondary bathroom is now soft, water-damaged, and also showing signs of mold growth. Our house is also consistently almost at 90% humidity.
Goettl initially acknowledged responsibility and assured us the damage would be addressed. But since then, they have completely backtracked, now denying that they ever agreed to any repairs. We’ve been waiting for a manager to call us back for nearly two months. In the meantime, a different technician shows up almost every week, and with each visit, we discover yet another issue caused by the original installation. Most recently, technicians arrived to install a new furnace — and attempted to do so directly over the existing mold they had previously agreed to remediate.
When confronted about all of this — the water damage, the mold, the repeated failures, the unkept promises — we were told, “Well, it’s your word against ours.”
I cannot overstate how upsetting and costly this experience has been. Goettl Air Conditioning has shown a clear lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic competence. AC review for Billy. He came out on a Sunday night since we had a bad bracker that kept popping. My wife and I are extremely grateful for his willingness to come get out AC up and running. Matthew went above and beyond to inform us. I was really nervous about the leak in my son's room. I was afraid of the cost . When Matthew got here,he put all of our fears to rest. Greg arrived that morning; accessed the work areas, determined the tools and equipment he needed, and got right to work.
By the end of the day, Greg had installed three (3) Replacement Single Handle Tub/Shower Valves, a Pressure reducing valve, and a Thermal expansion tank with vacuum breaker - - RESULTS: Hot Water 💧

Was very pleased with Goettl and Matthew Lopez. They came into our home and looked at our system and let us know what was wrong with it. They were not pushy or demanding, but opposite they were caring. We had several techs come to our house to fix our issues but they did not fix it. Matthew showed his frustration because they did not fix our issues. Matthew explained what needed to be done to make our unit run more efficient. We thank him for his expertise. Will use them again.

The service we received was done in a professional manner. First, Ryan explained the cost in a detailed manner prior to repairs being done. Secondly, he addressed the cost increase due to a broken part that was not visible until removal of the toilet. The gentleman that arrived for the assessment and repair of my AC (Mr. Jorge Gutierrez) was outstanding. His Customer Service was top notch, beyond just being friendly. He explained everything that he was doing and before conducting any tests, he would explain what is ideal and what are the limits regarding what he was looking at. Beyond my initial call, I had some follow up questions which he was more than happy to answer and explain. Upon further review, there were some additional issues found (not the “go in for oil change, now you need a new transmission” type of issue), but which helped to clarify the situation and for which he provided several suggestions on how we could move forward. I am an extremely cheap person but my family’s health and well being is first and foremost. And when you’ve got two girls and a wife who absolutely hate the heat (and here in Texas we get plenty of that), their happiness is my happiness (in more ways than one). So with Mr. Gutierrez’ explanations and suggestions in front of me, I made a decision which despite the cost, I feel comfortable and satisfied with. I’ve got his Contact info as well as his Supervisor (Carlos), so if anything comes up in the future or if there’s additional projects I’d like to have done in my home, I’ll definitely be requesting him personally.

I was scared and totally unprepared for this fast escalating water leak. It was terrifying. Ryan and Kaelen came and patiently and thoroughly explained what was happening. What was the procedure to locate the issue, what they would need to do to assess and repair the issue and as they exposed the problem they showed me what was happening each time I came out. They educated me fully so I will be able to handle any future issues confidently. They confirmed the leak was resolved and showed me how to use the new turn off if needed in the future. Update - our air conditioner went out today (10/26/23) and JEHAD showed up to repair the issue but the issue was bigger than expected. Tomorrow we will have a brand new system! Goettl is an EPIC firm that treats customers right. Thank you again JEHAD for going above and beyond.

Jorge was scheduled to look at our HVAC, he showed up earlier than expected. Jorge kept me informed of everything he was doing and what he was thinking about our issue with our unit. We have been looking for a company that is going to be there when we need them and is willing to use the warranty on our system. Ryan and helper came timely. Fortunately the original frozen pipes had unfrozen by time they arrived. They checked outdoor hose bibs and pointed out a few frozen ones that we attached freeze mizers to. I was happy with their service.

I had a leak previously repaired by a different company that was still leaking, so I decided to call Goettl, to get a pro to repair it. I was seriously impressed, the leak was repaired and it looks and works perfectly. Rudy came by on a Friday and dug up the pipes, identified where it was leaking and came back Saturday morning to repair it. The repair was truly a work of art. Doug and Aiden found my water psi was too high even after another company did a prv repair, and gave me an honest quote for a gas line.
Jeremy gave a clear, detailed explanation of the heating-unit problem he diagnosed and recommended steps to repair. It worked as hoped. Yeah Jeremy!! Courteous and conscientious throughout.
I visited the Goettl website and chatted with Zayne, who was extremely helpful. He was able to schedule a same-day service call to help with our issue. Peter M. arrived within the hour and quickly diagnosed an issue with our AC. He explained the problems in great detail and was extremely professional and polite. Because we still had an issue with a leak that was not coming from the AC, Peter was able to get another member of the Goettl team to come out and help diagnose that issue! Overall great experience with Goettl, so far! Hopefully the leak will be found soon!

Goettl sent Ryan to fix my clogged drain. He arrived. On time and cleared my drain quickly. Advised me of a break that was In the cities right-of-way. And sent a video confirming his findings. All for less than $100. Glad I chose Goettl!

Paulo "Adrian" Dado and his crew came out the next day with backhoe, dug up the area, and replaced the section of pipe.
The next day, after inspection, Adrian and his crew filled in the hole and then cleaned up the area.
