How Can UV Germicidal Lights Benefit Me?
There are many different issues which may lead to subpar indoor air quality in our homes. Because many problems with indoor air quality may actually adversely affect our health, as well as our comfort, it really is important that we have the systems that we need in place in order to protect the quality of the air in our homes.
For many residences, basic air filtration systems will do the job. Others may choose to use electronic air purifiers in order to better tackle the issue of airborne pollutants.
In some cases, though, pollutant removal is not the answer. Pollutant destruction is necessary. In such instances, using UV germicidal lights in Phoenix, AZ may be the way to go.
Removal or Destruction: What’s the Difference?
When air containing pollutants passes through an air filter, the pollutants are trapped on that filtering media as the air containing them continues on its path. The problem with this is the fact that biological pollutants are often too small to be effectively filtered out of the air.
Biological pollutants, after all, include viruses, mold spores, and bacteria. These specimens may simply pass through most residential air filters. If you were to try and use a filter efficient enough to reliably trap them, you may wind up creating too much airflow resistance for your HVAC system to handle.
Another point to consider is the fact that biological pollutants, as biological entities are wont to do, will reproduce, even after they’ve been filtered out of the air. This means that mold spores will beget more mold, even if you do manage to trap the initial spores on a filtering media.
By using UV germicidal lights, though, you can actually destroy those spores and render them incapable of reproduction. That way, you won’t have to worry about their continued, renewed presence.
