Have You Thought About Using a Ductless Heater?

If not, you should take some time to seriously consider doing so. We don’t live in an area where heat is needed for that much of the year. It is precisely this situation in which we find ourselves that makes the ductless heater such an enticing system, though.

Read on to learn a bit more about ductless mini splits, how it is that they actually heat homes, and what benefits they have to offer. If you decide to go with a ductless heating system in Tucson, AZ, our team is here to guarantee that your system is installed and serviced properly. With our help, you will get the most from your ductless mini split.

How Does Ductless Heating Work?

Ductless mini split systems use heat pump technology in order to heat and cool homes. That’s right. With this type of system, you get year round comfort. Even better is the efficiency that you get, as well.

Like a traditional air source heat pump, ductless mini splits use the refrigerant cycle in order to harness thermal energy from the air outside. This is done by evaporating refrigerant in the coil outside. In the summer, heat pumps and ACs evaporate refrigerant indoors, in order to remove heat from the house. Ductless mini splits are able to do this as well, by reversing the refrigerant cycle.

When in heating mode, that warm refrigerant then travels inside. It is condensed after being compressed, and its heat is used to heat air for distribution throughout the house. This happens at the multiple blowers used by such systems, rather than via a central air handler and duct system.

Because there is no ductwork, there is no risk of inefficiency due to air leaks. There is also no need to heat — or cool — the entire house to just one temperature throughout. This can help you to save still more energy, even as you live more comfortably!
