Here in Las Vegas, the air conditioner reigns supreme in terms of our home comfort systems. It’s nothing against the heater. Our heating systems are still vital, after all—just for a much shorter time of the year than our air conditioning systems are. If you are thinking about replacing your air conditioning system this year, now is definitely the time to do it. It’s only going to be getting hotter from here on out, after all.
Stop and consider too, however, if you could stand to benefit from a new heating system. If the answer is yes, or even if you’re on the fence about it, then today’s topic should definitely be of interest to you. Goettl Air Conditioning Las Vegas excels in ductless HVAC services in Las Vegas, and there are some serious benefits that may make this system ideal for your situation. Keep the following in mind, and let us know if you have any questions about what going ductless could do for you.
Heating and Cooling in One!
Okay, we will get this one out of the way right off the bat. While cooling-only models are available, a big draw of ductless mini splits is the fact that these systems use heat pump technology. If you’re unfamiliar with this technology, it means that they are able to reverse their operation. They can cool your home effectively in the summer, and then reverse the flow of refrigerant in order to heat your home in the winter.
Basically, the indoor and outdoor coils swap functions. In the summer, refrigerant evaporates in the indoor coils. This removes heat from the air in your home. That refrigerant is condensed in the outdoor coils, which allows for the release of heat so that the cooling cycle can repeat. A reversing valve allows the flow of refrigerant to reverse directions so that it evaporates outside, drawing heat out of the outdoor air, and condenses it inside in order to heat the living space.
Heat pumps are renowned for their incredible heating efficiency. Why? Because they do not consume fuel or use electricity (generally) in order to create new heat. Instead, existing heat is used along with a compression cycle in order to boost refrigerant’s thermal energy. That energy then heats the interior space.
With a ductless system, though, efficiency goes even further. There is no risk of air leaks via ductwork, because there is no ductwork that could possibly leak! This eliminates a primary cause of inefficiency in countless homes.
Not only will you pay less to heat your home and to cool it thanks to the heat pump/no ducts combo, but you’ll also be able to live in better comfort. You see, the individual blowers that ductless mini splits use are controlled independently of others. That means that you can maintain different temperatures in different areas of your home with ease. It’s built-in zone control! Stop overpaying for too little comfort in your home.
G-O-E-T-T-L it’ll keep you cool but it’s hard to spell.
