Choosing the Ideal Heating System

furnaceYour heater should never be an afterthought. No, the winter weather in Arizona does not really reach the same extremes that the heat of the summer season can. However, you still need dependable and effective heating in Pheonix. The first step toward getting that is to choose your heating system wisely. While there is no such thing as a “perfect” heating system, there is definitely one out there that is ideally suited to your own personal needs and user preferences.

Today, we’re going to examine some of the ways in which you can go about choosing your ideal heating system. While we cannot tell you what that will necessarily be here on our blog—it is going to vary from person to person—we can help you to start thinking about the right steps toward the right decision. As always, if you have any questions or require heating services, be sure to contact the pros at Goettl Air Conditioning Phoenix.

Work Out Your Budget

When you are choosing a new heater, you don’t necessarily want to be purchasing the most expensive equipment that you can possibly afford. You definitely don’t want to be purchasing equipment that is actually more expensive than you can really afford, either. That is why it is always going to be in your best interest to work out a realistic budget before choosing your new home heating system.

Now, you don’t want to avoid the issue altogether by simply buying the cheapest heater that you can find. The fact of the matter is that you tend to get what you pay for when purchasing a heater, especially in terms of energy efficiency. If you want to save money in the long run, then you are going to have to invest in a more efficient system upfront. That comes at a price.

Examine Your Options

For some people, the furnace is the go-to heating system. They’re reliable, and in our climate, using an electric furnace that is relatively cheap in terms of purchasing costs is not uncommon. They cost more to run than gas furnaces, but again—we don’t run our heaters all that much in the grand scheme of things.

For other people, though, the furnace is overkill. Using a heat pump offers great heating efficiency, plus the versatility of doubling as an AC in the summer. Ductless mini splits work on the principle of heat transfer, but eliminate ductwork entirely and are great for retrofits. There’s a lot to unpack when considering your heating options, so working with a professional is definitely in your best interest. On that note—
