This line of package units begins with
27½ and includes 30, 35, 40, and 50 Ton units. This factory assembled product is
available in cooling-only or in heating/cooling combination models. A package
unit is a heating or cooling unit that is self contained.

Trane Micro... Reliable by Design. -
The Trane Micro was
developed with only two thoughts in mind: reliability and comfort. The Micro
provides for all unit control whether it be heating, cooling, economizing, or
ventilating. It eliminates compressor short cycling and guarantees minimum run
times so that the compressors will always be ready to provide the comfort you
expect. Fewer moving parts in the control system means fewer old-fashioned
electromechanical parts to fail and improved system reliability. Many of the
components that in the past had to be bought and added to the system on site are
now an integral part of the Micro, things like "anti short cycle timers" and
"time delay relays". In the unlikely event that something does go wrong,
on-board diagnostics are there to assist in troubleshooting and getting you back
on-line fast.
3-D Scroll Compressors Reliability... Built Into the Heart of
the Machine.
Simple Design - The compressor is the heart of
any air conditioner and Voyager™ Commercial units feature the Trane designed and
built 3-D?/sup> Scroll for ultimate reliability. The 3-D Scroll has 64% fewer
parts than equal capacity reciprocating compressors. This means significant
reliability and efficiency benefits; the single orbiting scroll eliminates
pistons, connecting rods, wrist pins, and valves. It also means less friction
and greater efficiency than reciprocating compressors.
Patented 3-D
Compliance - The most outstanding feature of the Scroll compressor is its
3-D Compliance that allows liquid refrigerant or dirt to pass through without
damage. Things that would lead to the demise of an ordinary reciprocating
compressor are of little consequence to the Scroll.
Excellent
Part-Load Efficiency - The Scroll compressor's unique design allows it to be
applied in a passive parallel manifolded piping scheme, something that a "recip"
just doesn't do very well. When the unit begins stage back at part load it still
has the full area and circuitry of its evaporator and condensor coils available
to transfer heat. In simple terms this means superior part-load efficiencies
(IPLV) and lower unit operating costs.
